Brett Lee, the former Australian international cricketer, known for his consistent fast-paced bowling turned predictor and named CSK as the winners of the 2020 edition of IPL that will be played in the UAE.
IPL 2020 set to commence on September 19, especially with the two best teams clashing is just what we need to blow off the steam. The fast bowling legend, also known as a cult legend is now in quarantine in Mumbai and will probably join the host broadcasters on their show.
Lee, who has represented Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL, while isolating, engaged in an interactive Q&A session with the fans on Instagram was asked many questions. One fan asked him to pick a winning team, to which Lee replied: “Hard to say but let’s go with CSK”. It is very hard indeed.
With many on their squad testing positive for COVID 19, CSK has garnered so much attention but not for the right reasons. Delay in practice put the team in a tough spot just ahead of the season. The two major players, Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh pulling out of the tournament citing personal reasons was a big blow. The CSK is yet to name replacement of the players, which is understandably difficult.
The Aussie legend also went on to predict that the two-time winners KKR are sure to be in the top four. He said: “Definitely on the cards for KKR to be in the final 4”.
IPL 2020, set to begin on September 19 is going to be hosted in the UAE due to the increasing cases of COVID 19. This is not the first time though, in 2014, the first part of IPL was staged in the UAE due to the general elections in India. As per the schedule, the last match will take place in November. All the franchises have arrived in the UAE and some of the players from England and Australia will join their respective squads after their ongoing matches conclude.
CSK and MI will be playing against each other in the season opener match of the thirteenth edition of IPL. Watching MS Dhoni-led CSK, the three-time winner, and MI the habitual winner with 4 titles under their name playing is a feast for the eyes. This match is surely going to be exciting and shouldn’t be missed.
